Who are you?

For many of us, our social life is divided into several facets: Family, neighbors, friends, colleagues, bosses, clients and everyone else that crosses our path throughout life.

Some people meld every aspect of their life seamlessly, while others decide it’s easier to keep each part separate. I’ve found throughout my interactions and conversations with people, especially high-profile ones, that often there’s a huge gap between a person’s public persona and their private life. Sometimes, the difference is so great that it makes me wonder how someone can wear so many hats while dealing with all the various personalities and perceptions around them. But, I’ve learned, oftentimes it’s inevitable that a person will yield an array of opinions about themselves from others that have a little bit of fact and a little bit of fiction mixed in. In the end, regardless of what people think about you, or what they actually know, it’s up to you to establish the person you are — or the person you want to be. The single most important thing you can do is be true to yourself. After all, you know yourself better than anyone else — and no one can argue with that!
