Mariolga “Mo” Calderon’s journey into the world of bundt cakes was a bit of a delightful twist. After spending years as the Director of Marketing for a big company, she stumbled upon her passion almost accidentally. “Baking was a therapeutic escape for me — I’d whip up treats for my co-workers or my daughter’s school events,” she says. “It was during these moments that the whispers of encouragement started surfacing. People kept telling me, ‘You should sell these!’” One of the most unforgettable moments in her journey was when Edible Arrangements reached out to her for a potential partnership. “It was surreal because, at that time, I was still baking out of my home kitchen, and I couldn’t fathom how such a renowned company had discovered us,” she says. “I sent them some samples, not fully convinced that it was the actual Edible Arrangements. To my amazement, not only did they receive the samples, but the Founder & CEO tasted them personally. The next thing I knew, they were sending over a contract.” That unexpected partnership was a game-changer for Mo’s Bundt Cakes. It propelled the brand into a whole new league, but it also came with a unique set of challenges. “Suddenly, I found myself needing to transition from a home kitchen to a commercial space almost overnight,” she says. “It was a whirlwind of excitement and adjustment.” She looks forward to taking the company to the next level by bringing her sweet haven directly to the community. “The plan on the horizon involves opening a storefront,” she says. “Creating a warm and inviting space where customers can experience the magic of our bundt cakes up close and personal.”; MosBundtCakes.com.
