Bicycling: It’s good for the environment, great for our health, and, on Oct. 28 in Coral Gables, it’ll also be a whole lot of fun. That’s when the city will host its 2nd Annual Bike Day, a celebration of healthy activities and green transportation. From 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Miracle Mile eastbound and Ponce De Leon will close to car traffic, letting 2-wheelers take over for hours of music, theater, games, shopping and adventure. Take a historic bike tour of the city, visit the farmers’ market, join a kid’s scavenger hunt or introduce yourself to the wild sport of bike polo. Skateboarders and pedestrians are also welcome to the event, which helps support Bike Walk Coral Gables, a non-profit promoting sustainable transit; GablesBikeDay.com.
