Casa Batllò is a surprising building in the center of Barcelona. It’s sinuous lines and light-refracting materials have inspired the design of the aptly named Casa Batllò Pen. Haute writing manufacturer Visconti used microfusion to create the breathtaking elements that need to be artisanally finished one by one. Only this manual enameling can truly recreate the iridescent shades of the tiles on the roof and face. The clip’s outline follows the shape of the chimneys; while the layering of acrylic, silver or solid gold combined with enamel reflect the mastery of their artisans. These pens are a tribute to modernism and one of its biggest spokespersons, Antoni Gaudì, a man who said: “Artists do not need monuments erected for them because their works are their monuments.”; Visconti.it.
