Five decades later, the Porsche 911 Carrera T retains the title of the ultimate driver’s car. The iconic, aerodynamic shape remains largely untweaked, but everything else has been massively improved. A 388-hp, naturally-aspirated flat-six powerplant sends the power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission — there’s no automatic transmission option for this beast or need to add a turbocharger — with a rev-matching auto-blip downshift system. Available as a coupe or cabriolet, the interior features comfortable yet secure seating for two, with a vestigial rear seat best suited to hold a briefcase or large purse. While there is a sound system, most drivers prefer the symphony of the engine as it works in concert with a perfect suspension that converts twisty roads into an amusement park ride.
