Taste Tides

There’s a new fish in town, and she’s a great catch! Fresh off its official grand opening in Brickell, Sexy Fish Miami is the brainchild of British businessman and restauranteur Richard Caring, who owns many of London’s most fashionable restaurants. Sister restaurant, Sexy Fish London, located in Berkeley Square in the heart of Central London, opened in 2015 to a crowd as stylish as its Mayfair address, serving a diverse menu inspired by the seas of Asia, with a focus on Japan, in the hedonistic surrounds of the glittering restaurant. Sexy Fish Miami will add bold, seasonally inspired flavors while retaining the signature dishes of the original. The décor aims to surprise and delight guests, with an incredible 10 artworks by Damien Hirst, as well as an installation by Frank Gehry comprised of 26 fish lamps, a ceiling adorned with gold and a giant fish tank, housing live coral and a colorful assortment of tropical fish. A destination bar boasts an ample Dom Perignon selection, alongside Opus One Wines and a hard-to-resist drinks list, as well as unusual cocktails using innovative techniques and Asian influences; SexyFishMiami.com.

Living Masterpiece

Building from the impressive success of Beyond Van Gogh, which sold over 2 million tickets in just 6 months, the teams at Paquin Entertainment Group and Normal Studios are ready for their next artistic venture, showcasing the works of the French master painter, Claude Monet. The multisensory Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience will showcase 400 of the artist’s most iconic works, including the beloved Water Lilies series, Impression, Sunrise and Poppies. Breaking free from their frames, the works are thrillingly brought to new life, swirling and dancing across the entire space, using cutting-edge projection technology (to the tune of 4 trillion content pixels!) skillfully combined with music and sound effects to create a poetic and dreamlike display of Monet’s iconic career and legacy. The exhibition opens at Miami’s Ice Palace Studios on Jan. 7. Tickets start at $23.99 for kids and $42.99 for adults, with packages for families and groups as well as discounts for seniors, students and military. VIP tickets include valet parking and a special treat from the gift shop; MiamiMonet.com.
