Since 2005, Fine Arts instructor and self-described “serial artist” Néstor Augusto Turallas, also known as Falopapas, has focused on bringing art to the people via his evocative paintings and public art. One of his newest and most notable projects in Miami is the art for KAO Bar & Grill, Hallandale’s first-ever container restaurant. Falopapas was responsible for all the inside art and exterior murals, paying homage to El Caminito, a touristy street of colorful vibrant houses in the coastal La Boca neighborhood of Buenos Aires. In addition to his mural work, he continues to teach at the University of La Plata and has become a well-known figure in the Argentine and Miami art scenes, with a distinctive style that blends figurative and abstract elements. He has also designed sets for various events, including concerts for Aerosmith, Ed Sheeran and Depeche Mode; Falopapas.com.
