The Miami Symphony Orchestra has established an unprecedented alliance with the System of Youth & Children’s Orchestras of Venezuela “El Sistema,” a project that has transcended more than 70 countries to bring an enormous musical impact to society and bring it to the Miami community. They are now the official representative of “El Sistema” in South Florida. The project started March 2023 in collaboration with Shelton Academy in Doral, providing an enriching space for the musical growth of talented children and young people. It now has more than 50 students receiving musical education under the “El Sistema” teaching program; which boasts professional teachers from MISO with immense experience in the program, thus enriching the musical education of young talent. Future plans include expanding this collaboration and promoting a greater appreciation for classical music and culture in Miami. Also, in Venezuela, Maestro Marturet dictated a Conducting Course and finished it with a concert with the Orquesta Sinfonica Simon Bolivar, the top “El Sistema” orchestra in Venezuela; TheMiso.org.
