In 2016, the Ibero-American Film Festival Miami (IAFFM) changed Miami cinema forever. Originally, the Indie Pasión Festival, the small but mighty 1-day event grew into 4 full days packed with screenings, forums and networking mixers. For 2023, they have added IAFFM Industry so that new cinema enthusiasts can learn about how to sell and distribute their projects; and the Rainbow Flamingo Award for LGTBQ-themed productions. The many categories include Nuevos Talentos, the emergent talent competition category; Visiones Contemporáneas, for movies with bigger productions; Arte Ibero, cinema mixed with another artistic branch such as music, dance or culinary; Animiami, for animation; Shortfilms, for shorter length creations; and Miami Galas, featuring premiere movies or productions with special presentations; Jan. 24-29 @ Silverspot Cinema; IAFFM.com
