Cadillachas come a long way from your grandpa’s Caddy that rode like a living room couch on wheels. Based on the CT5 sedan, the Blackwing Edition is a fine choice for the office commute and taking the family to dinner. However, the standard six-speed manual and lap timer are subtle hints the Cadillac Blackwing is capable of providing owners a grin-inducing sense of engagement with the road. The optional 10-speed automatic linked to the 668-hp turbocharged V8 allows those challenged by three pedals to experience the joys of shredding asphalt. Because the Cadillac brand is synonymous with luxury, the standard interior features electronics compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a nightclub-quality sound system and sensuous leather upholstery with heated and ventilated 18-way-adjustable front seats. The optional sport seats with matching door panels give the Blackwing a bit of a bad boy edge. Add in a trunk that swallows a week’s worth of groceries and you have a car that is equally ideal for normal use as well as road trips; Cadillac.com.
