On a daily basis, families lineup at Pincrest Wayside Market for ice cream and milkshakes — famous in these parts — made with fresh fruit, nonfat yogurt and no added sugar. Founded in 1948, this place was originally just a simple roadside fruit stand that sold local produce. Today, Eli Taco, who’s been running it for over a decade, owns it. All the fruit he sells is local, and when not in season he brings only the best from California. The shakes are natural and creamy with a great variety to choose from including mango, apple with cinnamon, chocolate, orange, even one named The Elvis…made with bananas, vanilla and peanut butter. Oh, and by the way, mixing-and-matching flavors is allowed; 10070 SW 57th Ave.; Open daily from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; 5:30 p.m. Sundays.
