Soulful Sounds

With an achy chocolate-dipped fervent voice and the long, dark hair required to be a bonafide Roots-Rock troubadour, Brendan O’Hara and The O’Heallyeahs, have been singing up a storm for years.

From appearing on The X Factor to traveling all over the U.S. to sing in quaint watering holes, and of course, the small venues that are staples in the music industry, Brendan O’Hara is living his devotion to music. “My style is steeped in old era…bitters and bourbon, tonic and gin, yet infused with the raw perspective of the new millennium,” he says. Gaining a following in the regional community with fans from South Florida to New York to New Orleans, his sound is homemade. Listening to his music you’ll gather a wonderful mélange of R&B, Rock ‘n’ Roll, some Jazz and certainly a lot of Soul…some would even venture to add to that a sort of Rap in the way he enunciates his lyrics. For fans in the making wanting to experience Brendan’s music, he’s currently an active regular in Brickell: Monday nights he’s at Blue Martini, Thursdays at The Hoxton and Fridays at Blackbird Ordinary; BrendanOhara.org.
