The holidays may be past, but many people and organizations are still working hard to help others. On Feb. 22, one of Brickell’s leading charitable organization, Amigos Near Foundation, is teaming up with Wynwood’s SuViche to raise money for children in Haiti. Each year, members of the fully-volunteer staff of the Amigos Near Foundation travel to Haiti to provide aid, and this year, they’ll be bringing food to 30 orphans in the impoverished country. But this isn’t the first country they’ve helped. In fact, they’ve been all over the globe doing the same, in places like Colombia, Mexico, Tanzania, Panama and Israel, to name a few. The event will be a family-friendly affair, so bring the kids, get a drink and enjoy some live music by DJ Ella Romand, all while supporting a great cause. After all, how much better does it get than gourmet food, sun, spending time with friends and earning some good karma points at the same time?; AmigosNear.org.
