There is a kind of architecture that does more than occupy space, it invites you in, makes you feel seen, and somehow speaks to your sense of belonging. It is this kind of architecture that Alirio Torrealba is shaping across South Florida through MG Developer, the boutique real estate firm he founded with a vision that bridges artistry, history and forward-thinking urbanism.

What began as a pivot in career and geography, leaving behind a successful automotive business empire in Venezuela, has evolved into one of South Florida’s most influential development stories. Over the last decade, MG Developer has carved a signature niche: blending Mediterranean elegance with modern sensibility and always keeping the heartbeat of the community at the center of the design.

Torrealba’s story is one of intentional reinvention. Born in Caracas and trained as an attorney, his early years were spent scaling one of Venezuela’s top automotive groups. But it wasn’t enough. He wanted to build something more lasting, something that would outlive the turning of an engine or the churn of commerce. When he moved to the U.S., he did so with a clear intention: to develop communities, not just real estate.

The result was MG Developer, launched in Coral Gables with a simple yet ambitious mandate to develop timeless residences that blend aesthetic beauty with urban practicality, while honoring the architectural DNA of the surrounding community. From the start, he wasn’t interested in towering glass monoliths or cookie-cutter suburban sprawl. His buildings don’t scream for attention; they quietly elevate everything around them.

MG Developer’s early success was shaped in Coral Gables, a city long known for its Mediterranean Revival charm. Here, the firm flourished, creating projects that felt less like new construction and more like natural extensions of the city’s historic fabric.

Among the distinguished highlights was Biltmore Parc, an exclusive collection of luxury condominiums. Boasting graceful arched colonnades, exquisite stonework, and meticulously designed landscaping, the project was met with widespread acclaim and established a benchmark of refined sophistication.

Soon after came Biltmore Row, a graceful row of townhomes inspired by the city’s architectural tradition. The project recently earned the 2025 Addison Mizner Award for Excellence in Classical and Traditional Design, affirming MG Developer’s commitment to timeless craftsmanship.

This philosophy was carried into The Village at Coral Gables, a lush, European-inspired collection of townhomes, lofts, and villas set among gardens and shaded courtyards. With architecture rooted in Old World tradition and interiors designed for modern living, The Village quickly emerged as one of the city’s most anticipated new addresses.

Continuing its momentum, MG Developer is preparing to bring two of its most sophisticated projects to life. The George, named in homage to Coral Gables founder George Merrick, will offer a limited collection of elegant townhomes, each one carefully crafted with the kind of fine detailing that has become the firm’s signature. This isn’t just another luxury address. It’s a love letter to the city’s architectural legacy, written in limestone, iron, and welcoming Mediterranean hues.

Just a few blocks away, Alhambra Parc promises a more vertical expression of the MG ethos. This 9-story residence will offer elevated urban living while maintaining the firm’s hallmark intimacy and warmth. With refined proportions, landscaped terraces, a pool deck, Paraiso Garden with outdoor cinema and ground-floor activation, it’s poised to bring new life to Downtown Coral Gables.

While The City Beautiful remains MG Developer’s spiritual home, Torrealba is acutely aware of the broader opportunities South Florida offers. Nowhere is that expansion more evident than in Hialeah, where MG is spearheading a bold urban transformation through its Metro Parc master plan. The multi-phase development will deliver over 1,700 residential units across 5 distinct projects — Metro Station 1, Metro Station 2, Metro Parc, Metro Parc North and Metro Parc South — each strategically located near transit hubs to foster walkable, connected living. Designed with both aesthetic and accessibility in mind, the project aims to redefine Hialeah’s urban core, bringing upscale design and smart planning to a community long overlooked by high-end development.

Beyond real estate, MG Developer is fast becoming known for its civic and philanthropic footprint, supporting public art programs, local museums, and healthcare initiatives across Miami-Dade. Most notably, the firm recently donated $2 million to Baptist Health Foundation to support emergency room upgrades, a testament to its belief in investing not just in buildings, but in people. Whether funding cultural festivals or sponsoring community events, the involvement goes beyond checks — it’s personal. Torrealba himself is often seen at public forums, engaging with residents and policymakers alike, advocating for development that serves rather than displaces.

With more than a half-dozen projects in motion and several more in planning, including ventures in North Bay Village, southwest Miami-Dade, and the Airport District, MG Developer is scaling up. But even as the firm grows, Torrealba is adamant that the founding principles and human-first philosophy remain unchanged. Whether through a boutique villa in Coral Gables or a high-rise in Hialeah, every project is treated with the same reverence: for community, for craft, for legacy.

Torrealba has managed to do what few in the industry have been able to achieve: to build not just structures, but stories. Stories that speak to place. Stories that age gracefully. Stories that, like the Mediterranean façades he favors, feel like they’ve always belonged. In shaping South Florida’s next generation of neighborhoods, he isn’t just building the future — he’s honoring the past, and crafting spaces that inspire the present; MGDeveloperMiami.com.
