For the fourth and final Histoire de Tourbillon Series, the firm of Harry Winston stunned the horological world by combing four tourbillons into one magnificent and sleekly understated housing. Tourbillon balances have long been utilized in order to increase accuracy of a mechanical movement by averaging out the effects of gravity, regardless of the position of the watch. Timepieces with one or even two tourbillons are not all that unusual, and Greubel Forsey created a quadruple tourbillon design. However a movement incorporating four tourbillons with four balances, each in its own cage rotating clockwise every 36 seconds, has never been achieved — until now.
