My brother’s name is Blue; my first car was blue (back then it was considered a discount color, nowadays some carmakers charge extra for it!); I met my wife at a black-tie gala while wearing an electric blue blazer (I didn’t get the memo about the dress code!). The color blue symbolizes loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust and has a calming effect not matched by any other color — it’s also the hue of the sky and the ocean, on sunny days, of course. In college, I learned that blue is also the true color of water — water’s tint becomes bluer and bluer as its thickness increases. As we prepare for the official launch of the social season, remember that regardless of the color you decide to wear as you glide from one soiree to another, make sure you wear it with confidence and a sense of humor…especially if you plan to turn heads wherever you go.
