As the company’s first-ever mid-engine plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, it is indeed a hypercar, powered by a 1,064-hp, twin-turbocharged Mercedes-AMG V8 engine that, in concert with two electric motors on the front axle and one more on the rear axle, can propel it up to speeds of 217 mph, and 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds. To provide precise control of that much power, it utilizes all-wheel-drive, electronic lane assist, emergency braking, active aerodynamics and wings, 3D surround view, digital rear view, parking sensors, traffic sign recognition, lane departure, and other cutting-edge systems. The cockpit is all business, with a 1.25’ digital display of engine status. Housed in a carbon fiber body with dihedral doors, it’s stunning whether parked or zooming down the highway; AstonMartin.com.
