Inspired by her mother’s work as a family doctor, Irina Logman turned toward holistic approaches during college to find alternative treatments of chronic illnesses. Impressed by the extensive research, acceptance, and evidence-based practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Logman, Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine at Advanced Holistic Center, wanted to bring non-Western treatments to her patients for optimal client care. Always enamored by sunny Florida, she had the golden opportunity to relocate to Miami when many of her clients moved and changed shoes for flip-flops. She likens Miami to a mini-Manhattan and finds fulfillment in working with driven individuals invested in their physical and mental well-being. She explains her human-forward process of looking at the patient as a whole, pinpointing the origins of the illness rather than treating symptoms. While her work emphasizes non-Western medicine, her team still stays on top of new research and incorporates it appropriately within their protocols. An unexpected aspect of her work is also creating an environment for other young professionals to learn and grow in the fields of holistic medicine. “Starting a career as an acupuncturist is not straightforward, so I’m passionate about providing job opportunities and sharing my experiences as an entrepreneur, including my successes and failures,” she says; AdvancedHolisticCenter.com.
