“Relationships are important to me — I get great satisfaction from assisting customers in achieving their financial goals.”
For Lenya Suarez Rojo, life has two rules: 1.) Never quit; and 2.) Always remember Rule #1! “I was born in Cuba and learned at an early age the importance of hard work and perseverance to achieve a dream,” she says. “These are memories that I will always remember and try to pass on to my children.” Now Sr. VP, Head of Retail & Business Banking at Amerant Bank, her first position was as a teller, where she learned the fundamentals and foundation of Basic Banking 101. “Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work in different roles and areas of banking, in sales, and non-sales capacities,” she says. “By far, my favorite remains working directly with clients. As a leader, I play an intricate part in many people’s lives: internal (team members), external (customers), and community involvement. Yet, the most rewarding part remains helping customers make some of the most important decisions of their lives, such as purchasing homes, starting or expanding their businesses and planning for their future.” When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and exploring everything Miami has to offer. “My life’s passions are assisting others to achieve their financial goals and being a role model to my kids,” she says.
