President’s Brief

Spring 2010 is here! I’m embracing this new state of mind that I’m sensing many of us have started to embody. Our country (and possibly the entire Western world) seems to have developed a paradigm shift. It’s not always obvious, but our media is telling us that we are becoming less consumed with our “haves” and finally starting to turn our attention to where it is needed, toward the “have-nots.” While there’s plenty of negativity that perpetuates our news sources (except Brickell Magazine, of course), it is promising to see that we as a society are finding ourselves a little more humbled, helpful and open-minded. Excess and exclusivity are finally becoming less important. Health, humanity and quality, not quantity, in our lives are now what matter most to us. This issue is our Health & Beauty Issue, and they truly do go hand-in-hand. With optimum health comes beauty, and vice-versa. While we can’t instantaneously fix what ails our circumstances in life or in the world, we can continue to strive to be more healthy and happy and little by little give a dose of that positivity back to the world. Whether it’s contributing financially to Haiti, sending a care package to a soldier stationed far away (God Bless my brother), or just lending a volunteering hand to someone in need in the community, when you do good for someone else, it comes back to you. With doing good comes happiness, with happiness comes vibrancy and health, with health comes radiant beauty. Inside this issue, you’ll find ways to renew your body and spirit. Use this publication as a resource that can introduce you to ways you can become a more healthy, beautiful and positive version of yourself.

With a renewed spirit,

Jessica W. Cristobal
