Founded in 2011 with the goal that every single person in Miami would encounter a poem in the month of April, the organization has evolved to bring poetry to the forefront of civic life beyond their annual festival. Today they encompass an educational program that teaches poetry to 3,000+ students a year and publishes Miamian poems in unexpected places, bringing their iconic tagline to life: “Miami is a poem we write together.”; OMiami.org.
