For many people, a day at the spa is a treat, but for those suffering from anxiety, it can be part of a treatment plan. Over a dozen studies done by the Touch Research Institute at the UM School Of Medicine found that massage relieves anxiety by affecting the body’s biochemistry. According to Eileen Marti, Spa Director at Salus Spa inside JW Marriott Miami, her therapists have extensively studied human anatomy and can pinpoint where anxiety and tension are being held in the body.
