HIGHER, PLEASE!

Straight from the closets of fashion icons Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn, pedal-pusher pants are back in style for Spring.

Too long to be shorts, too short to be pants, pedal-pusher pants are the perfect in-betweener piece to give a fashion-forward yet vintage look to any closet. Closely related to the “capri”, these essentials are tight on the leg and just off the knee. Dating back to the late ‘50s and early ‘60s, they made a brief comeback during the late ‘90s thanks to Britney Spears, but the fad didn’t stick. Embraced by fashion leaders such as Dolce & Gabbana and Jacquemus at their Spring/Summer runways, the trousers are shown in different styles and colors so everyone can enjoy this reborn trend. Available in leather, denim or silk, the look can be complemented with flats, sandals or boots below and crop-tops, shirts and t-shirts above. Style them up or dress them down — anything goes. But above all, embark on this new style adventure by rejoicing in the freedom of new beginnings.
