A whopping 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die, often because bystander CPR is not performed. The American Heart Association invites everyone to join the Heart Walk to help turn bystanders into lifesavers. Every walker and every dollar donated means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research, and more lifesaving moments. The festival area opens at 8 a.m., offering health screenings, educational booths and fun activities for children, followed by a walk beginning at 9 a.m. As the organization’s largest community-facing initiative, the event raises critical funds to advance lifesaving research, increase CPR education and training, and drive equitable health for all; MiamiDadeHeartWalk.org.
