

Trained originally as a painter, he shifted into fashion at 18, studying directly under master tailors, shirtmakers, shoemakers, and dressmakers rather than through a conventional design program. That background shows in the brand’s approach: colorful, artistic and layered, drawing as much from art history, Monet and Caravaggio, as from age-old tailoring traditions. The designer has built boutiques in Bogotá and Medellín over more than 17 years, producing made-to-measure suits and eveningwear in limited runs rather than mass quantities. His clients have included public figures such as Daniel Habif, Adamari López and Hernán Zajar, and his recent Grand Début Fashion Show in Miami reinforced his reputation for treating garments as extensions of personal identity rather than seasonal trend pieces; @GioIsaza.
