Growing up in Stuttgart, Germany, in a family of photographers, Penkwitt became a photographer at 16 years old when he started working for skateboarding and BMX freestyle magazines. After shooting extreme sports for many years, he went on to work for global fashion and advertising brands. When he’s not behind the lens, Penkwitt, who now lives in Miami, is making art in the form of paintings with the debut of his first art collection, on display at Lina Cerrone Fine Arts Gallery in Wynwood. His prints on canvas feature characters of famous figures such as Lionel Messi and LeBron James. Each showcases his unique interplay of surreal elements and vivid storytelling, capturing a spectrum of emotion and delight that resonates with viewers; LinaCerroneGallery.com.
