“People really need to find themselves first, then go into a career. Don’t chase the money, chase the adventure, and the love for your work will in turn bring financial rewards.”

While a student at Florida State University in the ‘90s, Mihai Crisan started throwing events in the South Beach club scene. “I began forming relationships with DJ’s, artists and agents,” he says. “After I graduated, I moved to New York City and started Contagious Musiq which also served as a booking and management agency. The agency flourished and I was fortunate enough to travel the world with many incredible artists.” He moved back to Miami in 2004 and became involved in producing events and brand activations. Upon the birth of his daughter in 2009, he realized his schedule needed a total change as to maintain a healthy home life and successful business career. Three beautiful daughters later, he continues to thrive off marketing, printing and consulting. “My kids are definitely part of my daily inspiration — there’s so much I want to show them,” he says. “We’re big on traveling and I have the great benefit of doing what I do from anywhere in the world as long as I have an Internet connection.” A definite necessity as he gets as many as 500 emails per day. Born in Transylvania, he’s visited every continent except Antarctica, where he hopes to go one day. Today, at 43, he’s the oldest guy on the basketball court — and can still light them up; [email protected].
