Dinner Date

With Art Basel upon us, we asked some native Miamians one question: If you could have a private dinner with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

“I’d ask Gustav Klimt how he was able to see and interpret the world in such vibrant shades of gold despite dealing with the crueler side of humanity when he was alive.” — Sandra P.

“Definitely I would choose Leonardo Da Vinci solely because I would want him to tell me the meaning behind the Mona Lisa so I can be the only one to know!” — Michael S.

“I’d want to have dinner with Georgia O’Keeffe and ask her how she still succeeded in a creative field dominated by men and doubted by her peers.” — Jessica N.

“Hands down, I’d choose my favorite photographer, Diane Arbus. I want to know why she chose to photograph the unsightly and the unspoken around us.” — Andrew S.
