Alaire Harris is represented by Runways: The Talent Group for whom she does her fair share of promoting couture brands, while her acting ability has landed her roles in commercials for Unisom and EpiPen…but that’s only a percentage of her creative output. She also fashions functional, chic pieces of wearable art. The distinction between rusted ironwork with strikingly polished accents could spin her into a new line of ornamental wear — or she may see the golden ratio, a naturally occurring mathematical relationship, in a mangrove forest which could later become earrings or a swirling brooch. And this artist is not only motivated by surface beauty, her Freedom Bangles Series honors Black History by imprinting copper bracelets with the prison intake numbers of Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to remind us of sacrifices they made to advance civil rights;
