Chew Thoughts

I’m not really a dessert guy, but I’ve been know to take a taste or two if a sweet creation is plopped down in front of me.

I’m all about portion control, but I’ll always try to eat the last bite, even if I’m stuffed. I don’t really like chocolate, but I keep some in my freezer just in case a craving strikes. Food is one of life’s most awesome necessities, but also one that comes with many opinions. Everyone’s got their own special way of enjoying, creating or critiquing it. I have friends whose idea of fine dining is ordering at a drive-thru in a nice car; I have some people I know who claim to be refined connoisseurs yet become regulars at gimmicky places that don’t have much to offer other than a cool name and décor; I have close friends who don’t eat meat, and I have a family member who orders steak with a side of steak and some bacon on top just for good measure. Appetites, cravings and go-to foods are as varied from one person to the next as our attitudes, temperaments, opinions and tastebuds. So why not get together over some good grub at one of the hundreds of restaurants in town with some folks who might order a few different things off the menu than you? I promise there will be lots to talk about. And plenty to eat. JORGE ARAUZ, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF.

“Once you discover what you love to eat, keep eating it, but make sure to leave enough room to try a bite or two of something new.”
