Hide & Seek is a vibrant mural located at The Underline Hammock Playground depicting animals hiding. “We wanted to create something playful next to the playground,” say Jeffrey Noble & Allison Matherly, the artists behind We Are Nice’n Easy, who painted the mural. “All the animals and objects represent the intersection of nature and culture that’s present here in South Florida.” According to Miami-Dade County District 5 Commissioner Eileen Higgins, The Underline is a place where everyone comes together as a community. “It’s not just about walking and exercising but also about moving very intentionally along with the county’s art in public spaces and being intellectually stimulated as we are playing,” she says. Building on this success, there will be additional open calls for artist submissions to continue the mission to seamlessly integrate creativity into Miami’s urban landscape; TheUnderline.org.
