Whether at home or at the office, there’s always a new little detail mixed in here or there — a new plant, a new work of art, a new accent this or that…sometimes the change in a space is so drastic, it doesn’t even look like the same room! We do have one rule in our household that we began abiding by since we left our condo vistas in the sky for a a midcentury ranch house surrounded by nature — it was too easy to fill up all the extra space with clutter: Every time we bring something new in, we take something out. We donate as much as we can and try to only add things to our surroundings that make us happy. It’s become almost a science. Sometimes, things that used to bring us joy lose their charm and they eventually find a home elsewhere. Of course, we don’t always agree on what should stay and what should go! But one thing that will always remain constant: Compromise!
