Robin Campbell is all about her family, so when her son was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease — a type of inflammatory bowl disease that usually affects the intestines — 12 years ago, she didn’t hesitate to take action. It was then that she got involved with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. “At that time, I knew nothing about the disease and the diagnosis was a complete shock to my family and terrifying to me as a mother,” she says. “The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation served as a resource for information and gave us the assurance that we could fight this disease.” Since joining, Campbell has served on the Board of Trustees and the Take Steps family-friendly community walk for the Foundation’s Florida Chapter. Throughout her involvement, the inspiration for her work has always been her son. “He doesn’t let it define him,” she says; Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Of America; 21301 Powerline Rd., Ste. 301, Boca Raton; 561.218.2929; CCFA.org.
