President’s Brief

It comes as no surprise that we have made this “Top 20 Under 40” edition a yearly staple to our cache of themes throughout the year. It’s one of the most popular issues, and one that seems to literally fly off of every shelf the second a stack of Brickell Magazine is placed somewhere.
Why is that? For one, since we’re distributed exclusively in the Brickell and Downtown area, each of our candidates has a bevy of friends, colleagues and competitors who want to read about them. I call it “interest by association.” We are interested in who, and what we know something about.
While it is great to read about your associates or friends who made the cut, I ask you… “Are you at the TOP” of what you do? If your answer is no, then why not? Make it a goal to be an expert at something in your life — and then do that something exceptionally well. Be a difference maker. Strive to perfect your skills. Tweak your “better” to become the “best.” It’s more important than ever to be an asset to any group you associate with — professionally and socially.
As more and more organizations “streamline” and “cut the fat” from their bottom line, make sure you’re in a position where your skill set is a necessity. It could make a major difference in your paycheck, your reputation and your future.

“Make it a goal to be an expert at something in your life — and then do that something exceptionally well. Be a difference maker.”
